Ensure your team is ready - The time is NOW!

The global shift in manufacturing needs has forced businesses to think outside the box. The current business and health environment have provided us a unique opportunity to pause, reassess and make use of the time we have differently. Now is the time to:

  • Prepare for a smooth restart of production and get the first part right
  • Make use of the time and the opportunity for training your team
  • Adapt to change and swiftly implement innovative methods
  • Equip your team with the right tools while planning for critical product launches

Our team is here to support you in overcoming these unique challenges with the utmost drive and commitment. We are in this together.

THIRD WAVE SYSTEMS – WORKSHOPS

The workshops are geared towards helping new users understand machining modeling. Our workshop initiative aims to help your team with:

  • Smooth production restart
  • Avoid tool breakage problems
  • Use simulations effectively
  • Perform fewer tests

Introductory Workshops:

This includes a 2-hour web-based session focusing on how to apply TWS technology using case studies and specific training examples.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

In order to register, please select the workshop of your choice.

1. AdvantEdge Workshop on Process and Cutting Tool Design

Finite Element Analysis of your machining process can help you achieve significant savings by reducing tool selection and tool design guess work for evaluating new cutting tools and reducing machinability testing time on the shop floor for new alloys. The workshop will focus on Third Wave Systems’ machining-specialized Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling software, AdvantEdge, to highlight how the temperature, stress, chip flow, forces, and chip morphology prediction can provide the understanding needed to make informed decisions about tool and cutting condition selection. Attendees will understand the underlying technology that enables modeling of non-linear behavior of metals due to deformation in a machining process.

Finite Element Analysis of your machining process can help you achieve significant savings by reducing tool design iterations and speed up time to market. The workshop will focus on Third Wave Systems’ machining-specialized Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling software, AdvantEdge, to highlight how the temperature, stress, chip flow, forces, and chip morphology prediction can provide the understanding needed to make informed decisions about tool design and guide experimental testing for better tool performance. The workshop will also review techniques to create high fidelity cutting tool solid models for running the AdvantEdge analysis. Attendees will gain an understanding of the underlying technology that enables modeling of non-linear behavior of metals due to deformation in a machining process.

2. Production Module Workshop on Toolpath Analysis for Aerospace and Defense Applications

Trial and error evaluation of tools and toolpaths can result in significant loss of machine time on the shop floor and, typically, leads to less than optimal outputs for the overall costs. This workshop will deep dive into use cases focused where Production Module will demonstrate methodologies to solve machining problems for the aerospace industry. The workshop will also include integration with CAM systems to reduce project setup time. Attendees will gain insight about engineering analysis capabilities that the software provides for identifying and correcting problems related to tool life, part quality, bending moment considerations among other applications.

3. Production Module Workshop for CAM Integration

The integration with NX CAM makes the toolpath analysis part of the production process. This workshop will highlight the importance of this integration to analyze toolpaths and identify problems and fix them before they become an issue in production. Toolpath analysis using Production Module can be a vital tool in your toolkit to uncover and address problems to ensure a smooth production restart. The integration of Production Module and NX CAM helps our users in getting the first part right when production comes back online, reduces costs and provides ROI with first implementations.

We will be continuously updating the list of workshops in the series. If you are interested in this type of workshop or there are any specific topics you are interested in recommending, please contact us at [email protected].
