Minneapolis, Minn – Third Wave Systems’ newest version of AdvantEdge™ is available now. While the latest v7.9 will provide several additional features to AdvantEdge™ users, the major highlights of the release are:
1. Enable greater innovation in new materials with user-defined friction models
Study and configure friction models for new age materials quickly and easily with AE v7.9’s dramatically-expanded flexibility. Similar to UDYS functionality that enables constitutive equation modeling, v7.9 offers access to state variables from a simulation — in 2D as well as 3D, all to support greater innovation.
2. 50% greater simulation throughput with improved robustness of file I/O operations
Achieve 50% greater simulation throughput to maximize the benefits of DOE (Design of Experiments) driven multi-factor AdvantEdge analysis. Unparalleled analysis using improved file I/O operations makes key factor identification in tool process and design simulations — particularly with smaller chip loads requiring frequent adaptation—dramatically faster.

3. Easier installation with more flexible drive location choice
With AdvantEdge v7.9, you will have greater flexibility in choosing the drive locations where AdvantEdge can be installed easing out the IT restrictions.
3. Modeling the impact of coolant on residual stress in 2D simulations
You can now study the impact of coolants on Residual Stress in the finished workpiece in 2D. Bringing this ability in 2D simulations provides quicker analysis ability to help you better hone the focus of computationally intense 3D simulations.
