THIRD WAVE'S INNOVATION SHOWCASE
closing the Loop: From Virtual machining to Shop floor intelligence
Presented in Partnership with Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT),
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Siemens
East hartford, CT | October 28, 2026 | 12pm - 4pm
This showcase is especially relevant for teams responsible for hitting production rates, controlling cost per part, and accelerating continuous improvement in aerospace manufacturing.
About the Event
Third Wave Systems, CCAT, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Siemens invite you to an Innovation Showcase exploring how virtual machining analysis and real-world production data can work together to improve machining processes.
Follow a blade machining application from virtual analysis to the shop floor as experts demonstrate how simulation can help predict machining behavior, how production data can validate those predictions, and how observed results can inform new machining parameters. Attendees will see live machining demonstrations, learn how to analyze and predict tool wear, and explore how closing the loop between simulation and production can drive continuous improvement.
The program will also highlight the power of the digital thread and how machining intelligence can help manufacturers make more informed decisions throughout the manufacturing process.
Come for lunch, stay for a beer. The Innovation Showcase will run from noon to 4:00 p.m. on October 28, beginning with lunch and concluding with a casual networking happy hour.
About our Partners
Oak Ridge National Laboratory is managed by UT-Battelle for the Department of Energy. Scientists and engineers at ORNL conduct basic and applied research and development to create scientific knowledge and technological solutions that strengthen the nation’s leadership in key areas of science; increase the availability of affordable, reliable energy; and contribute to national security.
