2017 Users Conferences Recap - Asia

Global Wrap Up: 2017 Users Conferences conclude in Asia

TWS & its distributors hosted conferences in the US, Germany, Japan, Korea & China

BEIJING, CHINA (19 October, 2017) – Third Wave Systems has been hosting a users conference every year in the United States for more than 10 years. In recent years its distributors from Japan, Korea and China have also began hosting conferences of their own to showcase Third Wave Systems products AdvantEdge and Production Module.

Also in 2017, TWS hosted its first European Users Conference with German partner ISBE GmbH and German academic partner iWFT Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln (RFH). The European Users Conference exceeded expectations and brought together modeling technology experts to share industry knowledge and demonstrate how they apply TWS products to their machining processes. TWS also presented workshops and technical forums from TWS Product Managers.

Another first in 2017 was the Chinese Users Conference hosted by TWS distributor OSIN Technology 12-14 October in Beijing, China. The three-day conference attracted more than 70 attendees to the Lake View Hotel and Event Center in the heart of the city. The first day consisted of AdvantEdge and Production Module workshops lead by TWS engineers and translated for attendees. The second day included presentations from six TWS customers in the aerospace, tool design and academic research fields. At the end of the day everyone enjoyed a happy hour and a Chinese traditional family style meal. The following morning attendees visited the Great Wall of China in Badaling, about 1.5 hours outside Beijing. At the end of the event OSIN Technology formally announced the location for next year’s conference to be the ocean city of Xiamen.

Earlier in the summer OBP Eng. hosted its largest Users Conference to date in Korea, bringing together almost 100 attendees for the one-day conference to hear presentations from academic and commercial partners in Korea. Presenters included: KITECH, KIMM, MAPAL HiTECO tools, UNIST and TNS Machining. This year was the first for the conference to include separate tracks for AdvantEdge and Production Module. The breakout tracks ensures that every presentation provides high value for the attendees and facilitates more in-depth Q&A sessions afterwards.  Third Wave Systems announced the formal release of AdvantEdge Gear machining in Korean and presented the Production Module new features and enhancements in v7.3 and the recently released v7.4.

TWS also announce its gear machining capability in Japan in July to more than 100 attendees at the AdvantEdge Users Conference at CAE Power, hosted by Japanese distributor ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation. The conference included presentations from Nayoga Institute of Technology, Tottori Institute of Industrial Technology, Musashi, Tungaloy, DePuy Synthes and Third Wave Systems. Mr. Jeff Tessier from DePuy Synthes in Monument, Colo. has been a top presenter at several Third Wave Systems Users Conference in the United States.

The Third Wave Systems Users Conferences continue to be a successful event for TWS and its distributors and partners. We look forward to seeing you at a conference in 2018!
